I am sorry for no posts these past few weeks. I took off the blog for Christmas, New Years. Then last week was the College Football National Championship Game, and I and the rest of the state of Alabama took off to watch.
Even though 2019 may not have started out the way the Crimson Tide wanted (Roll Tide anyways), 2019 is here and at Entelisano Music, I am working on my New Year's Resolutions! First, a little background. Yes, I know we are halfway through January already, but I look for new beginnings all the time. The first of the month marks a new beginning. Each Monday is the beginning of a new week. Each morning is the beginning of a new day. I believe in new beginnings, and therefore, I am here today to discuss some 2019 resolutions that are going to get started throughout the year. Let's see how many I can accomplish before 2020.
One thing that I have heard growing up in the business world is the idea of S.M.A.R.T. Goals. For those not in the know S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym that can be used to set better goals. While there are some variations to the exact wording used, it stands for the following:
Therefore, without further ado, here are my three biggest musical goals for 2019.
In 2019 I want to finish 3 compositions. This number may seem small, and to many it is; however, I have never been a really quick writer, and I want these three pieces to be much more significant works than I have done before.
In 2019 I want to release my first album of non-classical music. An idea for an album has been brewing behind closed doors for some time now. In 2019 I want to bring it to life. Stay tuned for more.
In 2019, I want to learn guitar. This isn't a S.M.A.R.T. goal per se because it isn't measurable. Ultimately, I want to pick an appropriate song with my teacher to set as an attainable goal. This goal becomes "smarter" in the near future.
These are the three largest goals I have for 2019. On top of this, I also have awesome plans for things happening with Sano-Quinn Media, continuing my practicing in piano and percussion/drums, and of course keeping this blog updated throughout the new year. I also have some personal goals outside of this that I hope to be able to accomplish in 2019. I will have to remember to do a year end wrap up at the end of 2019 reviewing everything we get done! So, welcome back to the blog, and get ready, it is going to be an action packed 2019 here at Entelisano Music!
